More details are being released regarding the tragic death of Sister Wives star Garrison Brown, and it is absolutely heartbreaking. It was reported that Garrison Brown, son of Kody and Janelle Brown, took his own life on Tuesday. His death has left the Brown family shattered and now many of them are asking what more they could have done. Now, the police report has been released and it is clear Janelle Brown is questioning whether or not she could have done more for her son. Keep reading to see why.

Garrison Brown Was Suffering With His Mental Health

When she was speaking with the police, Janelle mentioned that Garrison was estranged from his father. It is no secret that Kody Brown and his sons Gabe and Garrison were on bad terms.

Kody and Janelle Brown separated last year after being together for decades and having six children together. Leading up to their split, Garrison and his dad had several heated arguments, some of which were seen on Sister Wives.

According to Janelle, Garrison sent a message to a group text that included people the family worked with. It is assumed the group chat included producers on the show. He wrote, “I want to hate you for sharing the good times. But I can’t. I miss these days.” It appeared as though Garrison was having trouble continuing to work on the TLC show while being estranged from his father.

Janelle Brown messaged her son separately to see how he was doing. They exchanged a few texts, but Garrison reportedly stopped replying around 8:40 p.m. The text was worrisome to Janelle, so she asked her children if one of them could go check on Garrison. Gabe volunteered.

Gabe shared with police that he knew his brother was “struggling with mental health concerns and alcohol abuse.” However, he believed Garrison was doing better because he recently started a new job and seemed to be doing well living on his own with his roommates.

Janelle Brown Feels She Should Have Gotten Her Son Help

The report also states, “Janelle also made the comment that she should have gotten Garrison help in the past as well.” This statement from the police report has saddened many fans. Several people took to Reddit to discuss the report and the fact that Janelle Brown seems to be blaming herself.

One person referred to her words about getting him help as “haunting.” Another person wrote, “I really, really hope Janelle knows this was not her fault.” A third commented, “Of course she would say that; any mother would.”

Several people pointed out lapses in how the world deals with mental health. “I’m sorry, but there were so many warning signs for poor Garrison,” one Reddit user wrote. “We have to advocate harder for mental health awareness, easier access to doctors/therapists, as well as lessening the stigma.”

At this time, there is no word as to whether or not the family or TLC will continue filming Sister Wives following Garrison’s death.
