Sister Wives star Meri Brown accused of ‘scamming’ fans by charging $149 for new company membership

Plus the star offered a new look at her bed and breakfast, but fans slammed the star for the prices

SISTER Wives’ Meri Brown was accused of scamming her fans after advertising her supposedly pricey new business.

The 53-year-old reality television star has been expanding her businesses since her official split from Kody Brown in December 2022.

Meri officially released the website for her business, Worthy Up.

The organisation focuses on wellness and fans can buy a membership to be involved in the community.

On her website, Meri explains that the users will unlock potential and propel their lives forward.

“Whether you’re enriching your knowledge or experiencing personal growth, Worthy Up is your safe space to embrace community, celebration, and support on your journey to self-discovery,” the website read.

Another page showed the membership, which was priced at $99, and what it included.

Meri’s website listed 2 exclusive videos per month, a live Q&A session, access to special deals and a members-only mug.

After the deal, the lifetime membership price will increase to $149.

Fans were left shocked at the price and flocked to Reddit to discuss their thoughts.

Screengrabs of the website were uploaded by a user onto a popular Sister Wives thread.

“Meri’s ‘Worthy Up’ Business,” they titled the discussion.

“She has a P.R. person thinking up ways she can get paid by doing the least amount of actual work. ‘Immerse yourself in Meri’s insights and wisdom…’ ah WTF does that even mean?” someone replied.

“Does she have some kind of degree or certificate in psychology or experience in mentoring people other than her Sister Wives and kids? It’s a BS money-making scheme just like those stupid 2-minute videos they make for $150 for people.”

“These people live off multi-level marketing type c**p. Get a real f**king job,” another added.

“Still trying to figure out what I’m ’getting’ for 99 bucks (to be $149 soon),” a fourth wrote.

“So she wants us to pay to be her friend and get cheesy advice? Now that’s a life coach fake if I ever saw one,” a fifth enraged user asked.

“I wouldn’t have guessed Meri would be the one to start her own cult,” a sixth enraged user said.

CRITIC’S CORNER

This was not the first time Meri received criticism for a business venture.

The star was previously called out for advertising her bed and breakfast business for a supposedly high price.

Meri seemed to clap back at the criticism by sharing photos from inside her property.

The star shared a pic of the staircase inside her B&B, Lizzie’s Heritage Inn that’s located in Utah.

In the social media snap, the TLC personality showed off the mint green wallpaper, and the patterned stairs complemented the wall.

Meri focused in on two paintings hung on the wall.

“I’ve always loved these prints of Pinkie and Blue Boy that I’ve had for years, and with a recent little update to the stairwell at @lizzies_heritage_inn this seemed like the perfect place for them!” She captioned the post.

Last year, Meri urged her followers to consider a weekend at her inn – for the price of $6,000.

In connection with Real Life Retreats, Meri was offering guests the chance to stay at the bed and breakfast for a few days and enjoy a nice weekend of pampering.

Fans went to the website and realized a Supreme stay costs $4,000 and an Elite Plus would cost $6,000, and then took to the comments to have their say.

OUCH!

“Six. THOUSAND?!!! DOLLARS??!! What on earth could that include?! I’m genuinely curious,” one person wrote.

“Most of the usa is struggling putting food on the table and buying medicine and getting medical help and u charge this amount?? i use to support u but nah,” another fumed.

“That’s a lot of money for 3 days in Utah? and not much is included,” and a fourth said: “I’m pulling for you Mari, but these prices are ridiculously high,” a third noted.

“She’s out of her damn mind thinking $6,000 is a feasible cost! To spend time with her… Hard pass here!” Said another.
